I know this is a little belated, however, I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!
This past weekend was filled with a lot of fun for our little family–Michael and I spent a lot of money on each other for gifts this year (mainly because we didn’t get to celebrate our 2-year anniversary–we were moving out of our apartment on that day), made a big huge meal for dinner, took a lot of fun Valentine’s Day photos of our baby girl, created a million chocolate-covered snacks, went to go see the Wildlife Experience museum in Parker, had a couple of friends come over for pizza and games, and lastly celebrated our sister-in-law’s birthday with delicious cafe rio-style food and ice cream cake. We had such beautiful weather for the middle of winter, and so I’m glad we got the chance to get out of the apartment and get some fresh air and have a wonderful break before Michael’s first busy week at his internship.
Apparently this week they are starting to get a lot of tax returns and so he’ll be working about 8 hours instead of 6 hours per day. But, that’s okay. He’s actually really enjoying what he’s doing–coming home everyday telling me new things he’s learning to do and such. I’m so glad that he’s going to graduate in a field he really loves and that he’ll someday get a job that he would not mind going to everyday.
Bugaboo is keeping us on our toes as of late. She has discovered that she can roll both ways now and even starting to scoot around in circles on her tummy reaching for all of her little toys around her. It won’t be too long before she’ll be up and scooting and crawling around the place getting into everything. She already has a knack for finding things she’s not supposed to be playing with: such as chords, cell phones, eyeglasses, etc. It’s a good thing Michael and I already prepared for this day to come by collecting baby-proof items before she was even born. And diapering just got interesting. Before it was hard to change her because you never know if she’s finished or not. Now it’s more like trying to change the most wiggly person in the world as she rolls left and right trying to escape and play with her toys. Don’t get me wrong–I love the fact that she’s a curious little girl. But, life would be so much easier (and her clothes would be more appreciative) if she stayed still long enough for me to put the diaper on right.
And greatest news of all: we got a new apartment in Rexburg!!
And it is sooooo affordable. I’m so excited to move in there this spring–it’ll be a two-bedroom apartment with a lot more space than what we had in our last apartment in that city. We finalized the details with a sweet girl working there, signed an 8-month lease, and are now making plans for when we need to make the big move back to Idaho. It’s kind of silly, but I’m also nervous. You see, we also have two huge couches (one is a three-person couch that could comfortably seat four people and a ‘love seat’ that would actually fit three people) and I don’t know if they’ll even get inside the front door. We’ll be living on the second floor at the apartment complex, and with our past experience these couches don’t always fit in stairwells. But, Michael and I will just have to wait and see how that will work.
Well, with all of these new changes and exciting times, let’s just say I still feel like this year is going to be a great year! I can’t wait till our baby girl will see spring and summer for the first time in her life and learn to do new and fun tricks. I can’t wait to experience the new adventures I will have with Michael as he finishes his bachelor’s degree. This will be a great year :).
