So, this post is LONG overdue, but I still really wanted to share this wonderful experience we had in our home–our baby girl is now officially ONE!!!
We wanted to make a pink princess-themed Birthday for our little girl, and I feel like everything went great!
First off, we made her a cake:
And I just LOVE how it turned out!
Her “Smash Cake” was a Creme-Brulee sized cake (Yellow Cake Mix) and then iced with some Strawberry Frosting using just a piping bag and a large-star shaped tip to create the little rosette design.
If you would like instructions on how to create one just like this–here’s a link.
And once we got her dressed in a cute and cheap pink tutu (bought at the Dollar Tree Store), we let her dig in while we snapped away with our cameras.
Her Birthday was on September 18th, and we had a small Birthday Party for just some close friends the following weekend. Bug LOVED eating her cake, though! She was a little hesitant at first, tasting the super sweet frosting. But once she got over the sugary surprise she dug right in after the first few bites. It was so much fun to take these photos of her and watching her as she experienced eating some delicious cake!
We also bought her an adorable Birthday Dress and some new toys!
We also celebrated her Birthday in Arizona–where we flew down earlier that month to visit some family relatives. We gave her a cute pink cupcake that was part of a princess-dress cupcake formation, and boy! Did she make a mess!
So many friends and family gave her such wonderful gifts and presents, Bug was elated! She couldn’t have had a better first Birthday!
And, like any other baby in the world: she preferred playing with the box rather than the toy:
Here are some of her First Year Photos:
If there is one thing I learned from taking photos of this little girl, is to make sure you have two things:
1. A prop (like an apple) to keep them preoccupied
2. A silly person jumping behind you making faces to get the baby to laugh and smile for your photos (Thank you, Michael!)
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!
